David Maddox: Don't count your chickens....

Labour have just put out a press release with the following subject title: "Words from the Prime Minister on Willie Bain's election"

I know Labour are confident about Willie Bain winning Glasgow North East, but perhaps they should wait for the voters to do their bit on Thursday before announcing the result.

Just to clear up any confusion these were not words from Gordon Brown prepared in the event of Mr Bain's anticipated victory, but comments from his morning briefing of journalists supporting his party's candidate.

Am i surprised? NO i am not. I attended a hustings last night in Sighthill for local residents to get their own views across and to get a direct answer from the candidates on the issue.
As the event kicked off John Smeaton, Tommy Sheridan and David Kerr all made a concerted effort to engage with the local people, took the time to be civil with each other and shook hands formally...

However Willie Bain waltzed in and ignored everyone even the residents he soo cares for...
He sat there a little smug pug and didnt bother to answer questions, didnt act like it mattered to him and yes i agree he acts like he has already won!
woe betide him if the voters decide otherwise!

Maybe Willie is so confident because they have already counted their postal ballots.

Willie Bain is a toady Labour apparatchik. Parachuted into a so called safe seat to do Gordon's bidding.

My fervent wish is that the curse of Gordon Brown will affect him now and he won't get elected. :)

One final thing; does he bring his own cushion to his TV interviews? Y'know so he's the same height as the rest of the contestants.
