David Kerr: Labour hypocrisy in Glasgow exposed as SNP close the gap
Reports here, show that the London Labour government is planning to axe services on the east coast between Glasgow Central and London.
After weeks of campaigning over 1 mile of track, Labour are now cutting off a 500 mile service - one of the main routes bringing business, tourists and jobs from London into the city.
This decision shows where their priorities really lie and is yet another example of Labour neglecting Glasgow North East. After 74 years it's time to end this neglect. Only a vote for the SNP can stop London Labour in their tracks and deliver the best services for Glaswegians.
This revelation also shows that it is the SNP that is really investing in rail services for Glasgow with a £1 billion investment package to cut journey times between Glasgow and Edinburgh to 35 minutes, as well as the Glasgow-Paisley improvements, and improvements toDalmarnock station – while all the time Labour are cutting services.
Labour are treating the people of Glasgow shamefully. They have presidedover 74 years of decline in this constituency and I won't, the SNP won't, and certainly the people of Glasgow North-East won't put up with it anymore.
Off to campaign with Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon for the rest of the day. More updates later...

Great stuff David.
Not only will Labour damage Glasgow but Willie Bain might not be able to get his three day a week Lecturing Job at the South Bank University in London.
David - what's your position on rape victims? Do you think they should be allowed an abortion?
What do you think of this case - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7926694.stm
You are a member of Opus Dei and on record as saying you support the Catholic Church in all things - would you forbid a 9 year old girl who had been repeatedly raped by her step-father from having an abortion?
You want to represent constituents in Glasgow North East. Don't they have the right to know where you stand on basic health issues?
Whiskyguy, perhaps you should explain why you're implying David Kerr has said the people don't have a right to know where he stands, when he's done no such thing? Wouldn't be trying to smear the guy, would you? Perish the thought.
The fact of the matter is that David Kerr would not be in a position to influence the law on abortion if elected as an MP for the forseeable future. Nor would he be in a position to influence the law on other issues where his personal beliefs may affect his political viewpoint. In case whiskyguy hasn't noticed we have had these debates - on abortion, on stem cell research, on civil partnerships, and on adoption too. And the Church lost every one of them.
Any attacks on these issues will come from the Tories as they are tipped to form the next Government. But quite frankly I think that is extremely unlikely I think the status quo will prevail for at least the medium term.
So whiskyguys little interjection was quite pointless really.
