David Maddox: Easy to forget the small things...

Which must be why the Scottish Government forgot to list the publication of the draft budget on Thursday in its week ahead diary. It is after all only the biggest event of the Scottish political week.
But with the tough choices ahead of him, maybe finance secretary John Swinney, who bears a vague resemblance to Homer Simpson (top right), hoped nobody would notice.

This is just a tad desperate eh no? I don't think Mr Swinney has much of a resemblance to Homer, Mr Simpson having rather a large beer belly, being employed in a nuclear power plant, and rather lacking attention to detail.

And I don't think Mr Swinney regularly updates the Scottish Government's website himself either.

Perhaps this is David's way of trailing the budget? I understand we are to have some of the usual melodrama from the unionist parties who are hinting that they will bring the budget down unless spend on the NC is stopped. Or something like that, their bluffing has turned into an annual event, they just need to look for an excuse.

Perhaps Mr Maddox should leave the personal insults behind and actually carry out some proper investigative journalism. His comments belittle his profession.

As its now a game.....Brown looks a bit like Jabba the Hutt.

David,

The resemblance is so vague that it actually does not exist.

In Australian understatement - "A bit ordinary" - even for a Dcotsman journalist.

perhaps we should get our healthj secretary to look at some of the humour deficiency syndrome affecting some commenters. its a blog(and a good one at that) of humour and gossip, intrigue and sometimes just cheeky stories like this.
